With the latest advances in implant dentistry, Lynnwood Periodontics & Implants is able to provide a number of options to help patients attain an entirely new smile.

Working as a team with a general dentist or prosthodontist and the laboratory, we will develop a treatment plan for replacing missing teeth with dental implants that helps support a denture, bridge or other prosthesis.

This type of treatment can give patients back the ability to chew and smile in a way never thought possible until recently.

There are many options and in each case we will customize what is needed to best suit that patient needs and desires.

  • Implant Supported Denture

Implant Supported Removable Dentures in Lynnwood
This is a denture for the upper or lower teeth that is connected to implants by locator or bar attachments that click into place. This option allows the denture to remain stable for better function, and can be easily removed for cleaning. Many patients prefer this option to conventional dentures because of better chewing ability and speaking without movement of the denture. Anywhere from 2 to 6 implants may be placed, depending on the desired results. Typically, this is completed in one to two procedures. After the implants have integrated over 3-6 months, the final prosthesis will be made and attached to the implants.
  • Fixed-Implant Prosthesis

Implant Supported Fixed Prosthesis in Lynnwood
This is an option for a new set of teeth made from acrylic or porcelain/metal framework that are permanently attached to implants. This provides the best chewing ability, esthetics, as well as improved speaking ability and taste. When needed, the prosthesis can be removed by your dentist for cleaning and maintenance. 4 to 6 implants are typically placed for this treatment, and can be attached immediately to a temporary prosthesis on the same day. After a healing period of 3-6 months, a final prosthesis can be made.

Dr. Brancheau will review your options with you and coordinate visits with your general dentist, prosthodontist and laboratory. A comprehensive exam as well as 3D CBCT images of the jaw are necessary to plan each case. At the completion of treatment, a maintenance program will be recommended for follow-up and ensure the long-term health and success.
